Material: misprinted cotton fabric
Among the textile waste, I was drawn to fabrics with printing errors – their beauty, color transitions, and uniqueness. Printing inevitably produces flaws at the beginnings and ends of fabric rolls, resulting in one-of-a-kind materials. I wanted to explore different ways of using these misprints, both in clothing and in interior products.
Each misprinted fabric is inherently unique. I chose to highlight this individuality through vests, as for me a vest is an accessory that transforms an ordinary outfit into something distinctive. The reversible designs can be worn either as understated solid pieces or in the vibrant patterns typical of Kenya.
The beauty of these fabrics also reveals itself through light. Lampshades made from remnants create warmth and atmosphere in a space. Their minimalist form allows the fabric to dominate while offering playful modular possibilities.
For both products, simple cuts and the largest possible fabric pieces were used to avoid creating additional waste.
